The Medical Hire team were incredibly honoured to have been involved in the filming of BBC drama ‘Anthony’ which aired recently on BBC One. The 90-minute drama re-told the story of the tragic racist attack that took place on teenager Anthony Walker back in July 2005.

The programme contained a mixture of fiction and reality, portraying how Anthony’s life might have turned out, had he not been fatally attacked.

Covering a number of sensitive real-life topics, which resonate with recent heart-breaking events, the film told the story backwards in time…leading back to the moment when Anthony tragically lost his life.

Medical Hire were hugely privileged to be asked to supply medical props and equipment for filming of the hospital scenes at the end of 2019. The team supplied a wide range of equipment including hospital furniture, operating theatre equipment, A&E equipment, intensive care unit equipment, hospital hygiene products, plus an assortment of consumables and accessories.

Medical Hire were also privileged to provide medical advice for the emotional intensive care unit scenes. The team were heavily involved ahead of filming, supporting the production crew with script advice, and recommending the equipment that should be used. A medical advisor was also present on set during filming to support the cast and crew with equipment setup and usage, to ensure authenticity for the portrayal of the very sensitive scenes.
