Frequently Asked Questions
What hire periods are available?
Our minimum rental term is one week even if you choose to only take the equipment for a shorter period of time.
Discount is given for each week after the first weeks hire, details of which can be shared if you contact the office.
A days grace may be given if your hire date goes over by one day but if more than this time a second weeks hire charge will be incurred.
Note – Equipment that is to be collected by ourselves will be considered off hire when instructed by the customer that it is available for collection.
Where can I find prices for products?
If you know the products you would like to hire from us, the simplest way to get a price would be to create a wishlist on the website and submit the form with your details, after which a representative from Medical Hire will raise a quote with prices on.
What if I don’t know what products I need?
If you need help choosing the correct products for your scenario please contact the office by phone 0113 262 8000 or email info@medicalhire.co.uk and someone will be able to recommend suitable equipment.
What information do you need from me to raise an order
Once you are ready to approve a quote we will need exact dates and the details of the Company who Medical Hire need to send the invoice to.
Do I have to pay before receiving the equipment?
How can I make payment?
Payments can be made by credit card / debit card. We accept all major cards with the exception of American Express. Alternatively you can pay by BACS and can find our bank details on the invoice.
Is VAT included in your prices?
No. VAT at the standard rate (20%) will be added to the invoice.
Can I open a credit account?
Yes. If you are going to be a regular hirer, we would be pleased to open a credit account. Please email the office to receive our credit account application form. Credit account applications will be subject to normal credit checks.
Do you offer a delivery and collection service?
Yes. We offer a local delivery and collection service using our own staff. The charge varies depending on the exact area. Please ask our staff for a price for your area.
For areas where we don’t offer a local delivery service, we can recommend couriers for you to use to arrange collection from us.
What areas of the country do you supply to?
We can supply our medical props and medical equipment to all areas of the UK including London and the South of England. We can recommend couriers for you to use to arrange collection from us.
What is the condition of the equipment?
We pride ourselves on supplying modern and well maintained equipment. All equipment is tested before each hire.
What about insurance?
We do not offer a damage waiver on our hire fleet. All damage will be charged accordingly (excluding fair wear and tear). It is the hirers responsibility to insure all equipment against theft or loss. Equipment will be charged on a new for old basis.
What are your terms and conditions of hire?
What are your opening times?
We are open from 9am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday. Should you require our services outside these hours please contact us to make prior arrangements.
Are you able to help dress a set?
We would be happy to quote for a member of our team to help you dress the set so that it looks authentic ready for the day of filming/photoshoot.
Can you offer medical advisers on the day of filming?
We have a large number of medical advisors who would be available to offer advice on the day of your shoot. This would include how the machines work on the day and also how to dress the characters’ so they look authentic according to the storyline. Should you require a quote please email or call the office.
