Series 8 of the much-loved drama Cold Feet recently concluded on ITV after 6 episodes of emotional highs and lows for the close-knit group of friends.
This series saw a particularly difficult time for lovable character Jenny as she was tragically diagnosed with breast cancer. After weeks of keeping it from her family and friends, she eventually revealed the truth, which gave her the support network she needed to face the treatment ahead.
During her appointments at the hospital, Jenny also formed a close friendship with another patient, Charlie. But despite Charlie’s strength and positive attitude, he sadly lost his battle against cancer in the final episode of the series. This didn’t deter Jenny however, it gave her extra strength and courage to face her own battle and honour Charlie by joining in an emotional choir concert in aid of cancer.
Medical Hire were privileged to be involved in the filming of the 8th series of the Manchester-based drama, providing hospital props and medical equipment for the hospital scenes.
Jenny was seen in hospital on many occasions, attending consultant appointments for her initial diagnosis and also an overnight stay after she suddenly collapsed. For these scenes, Medical Hire provided a range of hospital furniture including bedside cabinets, overbed tables, bedding, waiting room chairs, visitor chairs, plus a wide range of patient accessories and consumables.
Medical Hire were also heavily involved in the scenes where Jenny and Charlie underwent their chemotherapy sessions. As well as providing specialist props and equipment to dress the set, a medical advisor was also present during filming to provide guidance and support for the cast and crew to ensure the scenes were as authentic as possible.
To furnish the chemotherapy set, Medical Hire supplied several specialist chemotherapy manual recliner chairs, drips, fluid bags, cannulas and a host of other accessories.
