Maternity equipment supplied by TV props specialist, Medical Hire, helped make Emmerdale’s latest hospital storyline really come to life.

Whilst attending the launch of a new business venture, character Vanessa is caught in the middle of a fight between three men – Jai, Rakesh and Kirin – and is accidentally knocked to the floor. Despite being only 7 months pregnant, Vanessa goes into premature labour which the doctors decide should be left to progress naturally.
Shocked by the doctor’s decision, Vanessa is taken to the delivery suite where she later gives birth to a baby boy, Johnny. But being born so prematurely, it’s touch and go as to whether baby Johnny will survive and he’s kept under constant supervision in the hospital’s special care baby unit.
Helping to make this dramatic storyline realistic, Medical Hire were appointed to supply the maternity equipment. In addition to labour and delivery room equipment, Medical Hire also supplied the complete special care baby unit including incubator, monitor and accessories.
