After a dramatic December down on the farm, things haven’t quietened down just yet for the residents of Emmerdale. January, so far, has seen an equal amount of drama, starting with a huge car crash that ended in tragedy.
After suspecting for some time that something was going on, character Robert Sugden discovered that the White family were planning to take his baby away with them to Australia. In a desperate attempt to stop them, Robert snatched baby Seb and drove away with him. The White family made chase in their own car, but a moment of madness by Lachlan left the family in grave danger as they veered into the path of an oncoming lorry.
Tragically, Lawrence and Chrissie lost their lives, but Lachlan and Rebecca survived.
The team from Medical Hire were privileged to once again supply medical equipment and support the cast and crew during filming of another dramatic storyline. There were two different medical elements to the storyline…
- Rebecca was left in a critical condition following the crash and was rushed to hospital and admitted to ICU where she remained in a coma for some time. For these scenes, Medical Hire supplied a full range of Intensive Care Unit equipment including a ventilator, monitors and a range of accessories.
- Lachlan was lucky and sustained less serious injuries as a result of the crash but had to have a chest drain inserted. As well as supplying the equipment for this, Medical Hire’s advisors were on hand during filming to guide the cast on this complex procedure.
